Southampton, UK - April 2025 - She Connects, a new women's wellness community in Southampton and the south coast, successfully launched its second matcha event this weekend to a sold out audience. The Women’s Matcha Club gathering, held at Bisque Coffee on Sunday, April 13th, brought together local women for a morning of connection, inspiration, and personal growth - intentionally coinciding with International Women's Day weekend.

The Matcha Club concept was carefully chosen for its focus on wellness and mindfulness. Matcha, a powdered green tea rich in antioxidants, has been shown to boost brain function, promote heart health, and support overall wellness - aligning perfectly with She Connects' mission of nurturing both personal growth and community connection.

Attendees were treated to a signature matcha and ube experience specially crafted by Bisque Coffee, accompanied by pastries. The event featured a spring wellness workshop led by Kareena and Keeya and a silent meditation hosted by Silent Yoga UK

"The response exceeded all our expectations," says Kareena and Keeya. "The energy in the room was incredible - women connecting, sharing stories, and supporting each other. It validated everything we believed about the need for these spaces."

She Connects aims to be more than just a community, it serves as a platform to showcase local businesses and highlight the vibrant opportunities available across the South Coast.

Each guest received a luxury goodie bag worth significantly more than their ticket price, filled with products generously gifted by sponsors and the founders themselves.

Thank you so much to our sponsors for supporting our event and supporting our vision - Sonagi Masks, Wykeham’s, GHD Southampton, Silent Yoga UK, Eden Grace Photography,  Bisque Coffee, Ocean Rooms, Beauty by Aliyah and Risen Muse.

Following the success over the first 3 months, She Connects is already planning future events and expanding their community initiatives.

"This is just the beginning," the founders shared. "We're creating a movement where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to build meaningful connections that enrich their lives."

Quotations:

Kareena Kumari, Co-founder of She Connects: “Sunday’s Matcha Club honestly felt so special. Being in a room full of women who are there to support one another and have real conversations, reminded me exactly why we started She Connects. It’s not just about wellness events, it’s about creating something that feels real and has genuine impact. A space where women feel safe, seen and supported. And at the same time, we’re championing amazing local businesses.

I'm so grateful to every single person who came and shared their energy. Meeting everyone was such a joy, and I can’t wait to host more events and keep building something beautiful together. Doing this alongside Keeya, my amazing co-founder, has been a dream. After working remotely for so long and feeling disconnected, it’s honestly healing to now be part of something that brings people together.”

Keeya Saund, Co-founder of She Connects: “As someone who’s spent years working across mental health, consumer psychology, and marketing, I’ve seen firsthand how much women thrive when they’re given the right spaces to connect. The Matcha Club was designed to be exactly that - a nurturing environment that encourages intentional conversation, self-reflection, and collective growth. Seeing women from all walks of life come together so openly and wholeheartedly was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.

Building She Connects with Kareena has been an incredible experience. After years of living alone and working remotely, I knew how isolating it can feel to lack genuine community. That’s why every element of this event - from our spring reset workshop to the small business partnerships - was curated with purpose. We’re not just hosting events; we’re creating infrastructure for connection, support, and long-term impact across the South Coast”

Wykehams: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with SheConnects. Their commitment to the personal development, creativity and wellbeing of female founders echo many of our own values here at Wykeham’s. We hope our journals can help members of the SheConnects network to achieve both their personal and business goals.”

Sonagi: “Sonagi was created to make self-care accessible, meaningful, and enriching — values we see reflected in SheConnects and the women they bring together. Our mission is to help people create restorative moments in everyday life, believing even a 15-minute sheet mask can be a powerful way to slow down and reconnect. We're proud to support SheConnects and their inspiring community events that uplift and empower women. Being part of a space that shares our values of wellness, connection, and mindful routines means a lot to us.”

Eden, founder of Eden Grace Photography: “There’s something truly magical about women coming together with purpose and passion. Capturing Matcha Club, hosted by She Connects, through my lens was such a joy, I witnessed not just an event, but powerful moments of connection, empowerment, and radiant feminine energy. It was an honour to photograph the essence of such a heartfelt and inspiring gathering as Eden Grace Photography.”
